The code of conduct sets out what is expected of players, parents, spectators and coaches. In becoming involved with the Club, all involved explicitly agree to abide by the code. Players should · Abide by the rules of the game, show good sportsmanship and observe fair play at all times · Show due respect for fellow team members, opponents, match officials, Club Officers and spectators · Accept the decisions of the Match Official(s) without protest · Show respect for both own and opponents’ facilities and equipment · Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina · Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game to help the Club win, provided that is consistent with Fair Play and the Rules of the Game · Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally · Never use inappropriate language · Abide by the instructions of their Coach · Be punctual for both matches and training sessions · Let your Coach know if you are unable to attend a match or training session (older players only??) · Most importantly, enjoy their football
Parents and Guardians should · Let the Coach know in a timely manner if their child(ren) can or cannot attend a match or training session · Ensure that their child is punctual for both matches and training sessions · Take personal responsibility for all transport arrangements to home and away games and training sessions. Neither the Coach nor the Club has any responsibility in this regard. If any Club Official or indeed any other parent or spectator offers to or agrees to provide transport to any player(s), they are doing so in a private capacity and parents should reassure themselves as to the suitability of the driver and vehicle etc. · Pay all fees on time · Volunteer to help the Coach with assembling goals, laying out cones, supplying oranges and water bottles, writing match reports etc · Ensure players are suitably dressed for the weather conditions and have a spare set of clothes when appropriate. · Ensure players have the correct equipment (boots or trainers, shinpads at all times, gloves for goalkeepers, full kit for matches etc) · Ensure players have appropriate refreshments (drink
Parents, Guardians and Spectators should · Avoid coaching players. This is the job of the Coach · Always encourage players and never criticise them in any way · Encourage and applaud players of both teams · Give equal encouragement to all the players, not just the most talented · Accept all decisions from Match Officials and not question or challenge any decisions · Avoid remonstrating with Match Officials or any representatives from opposing teams · Be calm during matches. Avoid shouting and screaming · Respect all decisions of the Coach/Team Manager · Never use inappropriate language
Coaches must · Respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport · Place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of performance · Adhere to all guidelines laid down by governing bodies · Develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect · Not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward · Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance · Ensure that the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of players · Clarify at outset with players (and where appropriate with parents) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach · Co-operate fully with other specialists (e.g. other coaches, officials, doctors) in the best interests of the player · Always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. Fair Play) and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game, nor any behaviour contrary to the spirit of the Laws of the Game · Consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance · Never use nor tolerate inappropriate language · Always encourage players and never criticise them in any way · Encourage and applaud players of both teams · Give equal encouragement to all the players, not just the most talented · Accept all decisions from Match Officials and not question or challenge any decisions · Avoid remonstrating with Match Officials or any representatives from opposing teams · Be calm during matches.
